The islands are considered to be a "living museum".

The archipelago consists of 13 large islands and 6 smaller ones plus 42 islets 

BALTRA: One of 2 islands that has an airport for flights to and from mainland Ecuador. The pier is a 5 minute drive from the air terminal.

BARTOLOME (Sullivan): (dry landing). A 30 minute steep climb to a summit of a once active volcano offers a panoramic view of the famous "Pinnacle Rock". Swim and snorkel in the crystal clear water with schools of fish.

ESPANOLA (Hood): Punta Suarez (dry landing). Walk carefully among sea lions, enjoy a waved albatross (from Apr-Nov only) perform his strange mating ritual. Observe colonies of blue-footed and masked boobies busily caring for their young, and Galapagos doves and hawks, from the landbirds family. On the rocky shore observe marine iguanas with tyraces of red and green (found only on Hood) and colorful lightfoot crabs.

Gardner Bay: (wet landing). Here a large colony of sea lions can be seen. A good spot for swimming and snorkeling.

FERNANDINA (Narborough): Punta Espinosa (dry landing). Proceed to a sandy area which serves as a nesting site for the marine iguana. Pass by a large colony of sea lions and the flightless cormorants. Enter a second trail which winds its way through a lava field. The recent volcanic activity is obvious from all the fissures. Observe several plants, including clumps of lava cactus.

FLOREANA (Charles): Punta Cormorant (wet landing). Beach with "green sand", Brackish lagoon with Pink Flamingo, pelicans, tropic birds and Audubon shearwaters. On a soft coral sand beach, sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand dunes. Huge rays swim in the shallow water. The Devil's Crown, a submerged volcano, offers the best snorkeling in the Galapagos.

Post Office Bay: (wet landing). A famous historical place where 18th century whalers used a barrel as an unofficial mail drop, a custom which continues today.

GENOVESA (Tower): Darwin Bay (wet landing). A shallow crater, a great place for snorkeling. Enjoy walking at coral beach, along with birds, masked, red and blue footed boobies and sea lions. Prince Phillips Steps (dry landing). Climb a steep rock staircase. At the top, observe Great Frigatebird, tropic birds and occasion-ally seen short-eared owls, also masked and red-footed boobies.

ISABELA: Tagus Cove (dry landing). A steep strenuous climb on the trail leads to a salt water lagoon of unknown origin. The trail slopes up the base of the Darwin Volcano, providing a great view of the fragile lava fields and the ocean.

NORTH SEYMOUR: (dry landing)A tiny island, packed with fascinating natural life. Pass by the sleeping families of sea lions and one of the largest nesting areas of the blue-footed booby and colony of magnificent frigatebirds.

PLAZAS: (dry landing). A tiny island, with steepcliffed shoreline and fascinating natural life: from sea lions, land iguanas and swallow-tailed gulls to vegetation that changes color with the seasons.

RABIDA (Jervis): (wet landing). Extraordinary red sand beaches. A short walk leads to a salt water lagoon, where flamingos are sometimes seen and mangroves boast the brown pelican. A bird-watchers delight where some of the rarest species are in abundance, such as 9 varieties of finches, Large-billed Fly Catchers and Galapagos Hawks. Jervis is said to have the most diversified volcanic rock of all the islands.

SAN CRISTOBAL (Chatham): Lies at the eastern point of the archipelago. Some 2,800 people live in the town of Puerto Baquerigo Moreno, the provincial capitol. Some of our yachts will begin and end their journey here.

Lobos Island: (no landing). Less than an hour from San Cristobal. The nesting location for the blue footed booby.

Kicker Rock: (Leon Dormido) (no landing). A vertical tuff cone, abruptly rising almost 500 feet from the ocean. Erosion has split the rock, leaving a perfect place for footed and masked boobies, frigate birds and sea lions.

Punta Pitt: (wet landing). Unique landscape, variety of plants, sea lions, red-footed boobies, masked boobies and vast sand beaches perfect for swimming.

SANTA CRUZ (Indefatigable): Puerto Ayora, home of Charles Darwin Research Station and the economic center of the Galapagos. Visit Galapagos museum at the visitor center and learn breeding programs for the tortoises and land iguanas. Explore the "Los Tuneles" the largest known lava tunnels in the Galapagos and "Rancho Mariposa" with giant tortoises.

SANTA FE (Barrington): (wet landing). Long uphill hike to the cliff's top covered by cactus forest, endemic to golden-yellow colored land iguanas. Weathered cliffs provide a haven for swallow-tailed gulls, red-billed tropic birds, shear-waters and petrels.

SANTIAGO (James): Puerto Egas (wet landing) at James Bay. Swim in the Fur Seal Grotto. Observe sea birds, great blue heron, lava heron, oyster catchers, yellow crowned night herons, fur seal and marine iguanas.
